چکیده
It is estimated that 40% of natural gas reservoirs in the world are contaminated with acid gases (such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide), which hinder exploitation activities. The demand for will increase by 30% from 2020 to 2050, rise industrial activities lifting travel restrictions. long-term production these high acid-gas fields requires mitigation plans, include capture, utilization, a storage process reduce emissions. Absorption one most established technologies CO2 yet it suffers extensive energy regeneration footprint requirements offshore operations. Therefore, aims this paper review analyze recent developments conventional emerging solvent technologies, packed-bed column, membrane contactor, microwave heating, flash drum, rotating packed bed, ultrasonic irradiation process. column drum less complex, minimum maintenance requirements, but suffer large footprint. Even though heating demonstrate higher flexibility stability, both require regular energy. Membrane contactor absorption systems compact, restricted various operational issues.

CO2 Capture from Natural Gas Combined Cycles
CO2 capture from fossil fuel power plants is increasingly proposed for greenhouse gases emission mitigation. It can be applied to coal power stations (with boiler and steam cycle or with gasification) or to natural gas combined cycles (NGCC). The first case is probably the most important in a mid-term perspective, due to: (i) the larger amount of avoided carbon per unit of electricity produced,...
متن کاملNatural Gas Purification Technologies – Major Advances for CO2 Separation and Future Directions
In an effort to satisfy the rising global demand for energy and at the same time to combat the environmental impacts such as global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, it’s worth searching for potential energy alternatives. As a base line for most approaches, the issues of producing sufficient quantity of energy with high quality, economical viability and environmental sustainability are the concer...
متن کاملA Physical Absorption Process for the Capture of Co2 from Co2-rich Natural Gas Streams
A new CO2/CH4 gas separation process is presented in this paper. Capture of CO2 from natural gas is carried out using an n-alkane solvent in a conventional physical absorption process. A methodology to find optimal process condition and solvent has been developed using an advanced equation of state (SAFT-VR), process modelling-optimisation software (gPROMS), and detailed process cost estimation...
متن کاملFlue gas treatment for CO2 capture
This report is in two sections: the first describes the flue gas and its treatment in post-combustion capture and the second covers the flue gas in oxyfuel combustion capture. The main components of the flue gas in pulverised coal combustion for postcombustion capture are CO2, N2, O2 and H2O, and air pollutants such as SOx, NOx, particulates, HCl, HF, mercury as well as other contaminants. The ...
متن کاملFunctionalized Polymeric Membranes for CO2 Capture
Reducing CO2 emission and lowering the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has quickly become one of the most urgent environmental issues. While a variety of technologies and methods have been developed, the separation of CO2 from gas streams is still a critical issue. Apart from establishing new techniques, the exploration of membrane materials with high separation performance ...
